Thank you, for visiting us and we hope that you will discover all you want to know about who we are and what we are doing by browsing the following pages. Whether or not, we should be very pleased to meet you at any of our monthly talks etc and you can find full details of all of these on the Events Programme page. A brief resume of the recent talks can also be found on the Events Reports page.

Should you need more, please use the Contact Us page and, in any case, please leave your comments and suggestions there too - we would be glad to hear from you.

Even better, why not become a fully paid up member. Subscription is only £17 per annum and is free to Students (defined as "those under 18"). You can join at any of the above meetings or leave a request on the Contact Us page and we will get back to you.

The Society confines its interests and activities to the area comprising the Civil Parish of Clitheroe and our aims can be divided into the following three categories,

1. To promote high standards of planning, design and architecture

2. To educate the public in the geography, history, natural history and architecture of the area.

3. To secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest in the area.

To these ends, the Society devotes its efforts and activities into,

a. Promoting civic pride in the area

b. Promoting research into the subjects directly connected with the objectives of the Society and disseminating, placing on record or publishing the results of any such research.

c. Acting as a co-ordinating body and liaising with the local authorities, planning committees and all other statutory authorities, voluntary organisations, charities, amenity societies and persons having similar aims to our own.

d. Holding meetings, lectures and exhibitions - see the "Events Programme" page

e. Informing public opinion and giving advice and information.

f. Raising funds and inviting and receiving contributions from any persons whatsoever by way of subscriptions, donations and otherwise (but not undertaking any permanent trading activities in raising funds for our primary purposes).

g. Doing all such other lawful things as are necessary for the attainment of the above.
